My name is Jon and I am a digital illustrator based in the UK. I have over 15 years of experience working as an architectural illustrator and visualizer, collaborating with both local and national developers to produce street scenes, perspectives and coloured artwork for use in sales literature, marketing, presentations and planning applications.

One of the joys of being an architectural illustrator is bringing a client's creative vision to life and being able to show them a place that only exists in their imagination. In 2016 I began working on a series of personal projects that took this aspect of architectural illustration one step further, as I began combining my professional skills with my love of history, fantasy and mythology, posting them under the name Paper Griffin.

These projects proved to be more popular than I could have ever imagined, and Paper Griffin has quickly blossomed into a fully fledged aspect of Abbiss Art. Through Paper Griffin I have been fortunate enough to work with authors, game designers and creative writers to help bring their worlds to life through maps, illustrations and layouts of both historical and fictional locations.

I regularly use SketchUp, AutoCAD, CorelDRAW, Photoshop and ArtRage and while my art is 100% digital, I have worked hard to develop a soft, free-hand style that allows my artwork to combine the visual aestheitcs of traditional hand-drawn artwork with the flexibility and print-friendly format of digital illustrations.
